Organize Greeting Cards

Linda Koopersmith explains several ways to organize greeting cards.

Baby- or Wedding-Shower Keepsake

Make a scrapbook with ribbon that was saved from gifts and photos of the shower.

Steps:

  1. Punch holes in large pieces of poster board, then tie together with a big piece of ribbon.

  2. Use a glue stick or hot-glue gun to put photos or ribbons on the cover pages and others on the inside.

  3. Put all the cards that were received in the book. To take the scrapbook a step further, include photos of baby's birth or a wedding photo, invitation to shower and announcement cards.

  4. This scrapbook not only serves as an organizational tool for cards, but it's also a keepsake.

Store-Bought Scrapbook

Buy an attractive scrapbook of any design, then organize birthday cards by year or by family members, depending upon how far back the cards go.

File-Box Card Organization

Buy a file box, or you could use a large cardboard box and just insert file folders. Put the name of each family member on a folder, and put cards that you want to save in their folder. A more general file of the year can be made, and everyone can save what he or she wants. Color coordinating files in another good idea. Give each family member a color, so they each have a file.
