Organize a Kid's Bedroom

Organizing expert Linda Koopersmith shows how to maximize the space in a child's bedroom by moving the furniture and using inexpensive shelving units that will work for the child as she grows up.

  • Underneath your child's single bed stow a hideaway bed to use for sleepovers.

  • In the closet, insert a lower bar with a shelf over it, so all clothes and shoes are within a child's reach.

  • Install an entertainment center along one wall. Use the available shelves and storage space to keep toys and dolls.
